The night befor Calrocs Tin Bender and I came up this, it seems to work with the body lines of the Sammy and it doesn't kill the approach angle. It's made of 2"x.120 and a little 1.5"x.120.:)

Side shot, not bad for the approach angle.

It's mounted pretty well, the winch plate is made of 1/4"x12" flat stock.

Very sweet ,that looks deadly! That is cleaner than any after-market bumpers ive seen. You should start selling them.

Damnit, Kid, that's the same GENERAL idea I was having for my 'Kick. Except for the top horizontal bar, I had other ideas. Looks really good, though, But I think it'll follow a Sidekicks headlights and body lines better! :flipoff2:
 for you.

that's a bull's eye for sure.
Only think that I would change is weld some flat stock between the tubes on the outside edges - just for a bit of a ARB bumper kind of look.
So I guess mounting on a stockish Sam would be quite a bit different, you've got it welded to the extension for your springs and PS, no?

Good Eye Root...
We have 4 other Sammy's at the shop right now get'n the same bumpers/sliders and cage:D... Try'n to come up with a simple and strong mount for the "stock" frame'd Zuks and Zuks with a shackle reversal is the only hang up...
Thanks for the Positive words and Hang in there it'll be soon:smokin:

You know, what might be a good "option" is to make the bumper attach to the stock rails but have the bumper itself become the front shackle mount of either a rear spring up front modification or S/R or...probably be more of a pita than its worth though - then you need to make multiple versions of the same bumper.
JAT (just a thought).

WOW I am impressed looks gr8. maybe you should package that.:D :D :D :D

Fatty: Do you ever intend to run doors?
It would be so easy to conect the front bumper to the roll cage beside the hood. Then you could run a hoop over the front cowl.
Simple , bullet proof front clip.
Just a sugestion :D

well, if you need someone to test it for a stock framed zuk, I'll volunteer, as my front is shot to shit at this point. Every time I go out it gets at least 1 new dent. winching today also pulled one side out about 3 inches.
Sweet!
Best lookin' bumper i've seen on a zuk.

Thanks fatty, I was wondering what to do to the top of my bumper; I think I'll change it around a bit. I'd like to put in some sort of radiator protection.

As you can see in mine, it is in the same place and has not been hit much. But I bring in the front at any type of angle I can.:D

I was thinking of using a new aluminum hawse with rope. Should have some room to put in a 3/16 or 1/4 plate under it.

I've thought about using the nylon rope with the hause style fairlead, too. However all the guys seem to think that it can't withstand the rocks:)

fk- whatabout a front bumper kit? prebent parts- just add mig. That would cut down on shipping and make it easier to churn out... I would buy it now.

master pull has sleeves for the winch ropes also....to keep them safe from rocks....i think you can get them in either 3 or 5 feet....just have to be careful with it....i just got the 100' 5/16 rope and aluminum fairlead.....takes a lot of weight off the front of the truck....

wieght is the reason I'd run the nylon, sleeve sounds like a good idea...

well.....just a few other reasons
floats on water/mud
won't kill you like cable when it breaks
supposedly more resistant to weathering
(not sure about this one yet....only had it a month or so)
it's a lot lighter than cabe( so my winch bitch can unspool the shit)
IT COMES WITH A BIG YELLOW HOOK :flipoff2:
