Anybody know if someone has done up a scout on rockwells? I'm looking to buy some rockwells, but I'm not sure if it had been done before so I could get some guidance. Any help would be appreciated.:smokin:

It's been done...actually Petersen's or Four Wheeler had a picture of it at some photo shoot they went to. Why Rockwells though? I assume you will be running mud in Alaska...why not build some sick full-width D44 fronts, high quality shafts and U-joints, a 196, a T19 wide, a D18 transfer case and make it 4-wheel steer, lighten the Scout up as much as you can, and run some terra tires!

BLK Scout 800, what's wrong with D44s or 4 wheel steering? Check your signature...looks like you are running D44s:shaking:

skout4lyf, the only answer you will get on this board is to go for the D60/14 bolt combo that you absolutely have to have to be cool!:flipoff2: Do your own thing man, being a conformist isn't cool!

It's not an 80 model but it is a Scout on Rockwells. It has been done a few times but do what you want to do. Let me know if there is anything I can do.....Here's a Link to my Rockwell install...http://members.cox.net/jtolly/images/slipscomb/.

1. I don't have a steering 44 in the rear :shaking: much to weak ( u-joints, 2 piece axles)

2. I dont have full width 44's :barf: all the width none of the strength :barf:

3. Mine are stronger than a 60 in more ways than one :D

4 wheel steer is :cool2:

I was looking on your buildup, and I was wondering what kind of configuration is that with the motor and tranny and the 2 t cases?

Why Rockwells?...why not build some sick full-width D44 fronts, blah, blah, blah...

Why not? Because Rockwells would be Sick, look at those fuckers!

BTW, D44's are over rated.

I'm running a Vortec 350, IH T-19, Ford 203 and Ford 205. Made my own adapters but the transfercase adapters should be available through a few vendors. I made the motor adapter because I needed to keep the IH bellhousing because I was using the stock style clutch linkage for the right-hand-drive. I made a Dana 20-Ford 203/205 adapter then made the 203/205 adapter for the cases. The 205 is mounted upside down for a rightside drop and twin sticked for front and rear digs.
