: Straight Beadlocks?
criscfer 03-16-2002, 09:10 AM I just received my new "brand-x" beadlocks. I had heard great things about this wheel company, but I'm disappointed as all hell. None of the wheels are straight. On a balancing machine they wobble about two inches.
So, is that just the way it is? I'm afraid I'm going to be told, "they are not intended for street use."
Does anyone else have this trouble, or did I just get the worst set built?
MTUCJ7 03-16-2002, 09:48 AM Sounds like you got a shitty deal. Mine are straight (MRT's).

notcrazyjustNuTz 03-16-2002, 10:03 AM sounds pretty fawked up to me
Cutter 03-16-2002, 11:03 AM tell us the brand...and you DID get screwed...sorry
offroadr35 03-16-2002, 11:04 AM this was my response from the same post on Colorado4x4...
You just got screwed man. Call them back and demand they send you a true set. Just because a wheel is not approved for street use does not mean you don't deserve a wheel built to the same quality. If they don't make it right let us all know who the company is so we can stay away.

gunracer1 03-16-2002, 11:04 AM even racing bead locks need to be straight, i would call them up and raise hell, because that is bull shit. mike
BillaVista 03-16-2002, 11:13 AM The beadlocks I made myslef, from old beat-up wheels and Rockstomper kit, myself, with no machine tools, in a freezing cold unheated garage with a little 110 volt welder are true
So something went seriously fawking wrong with yours...you are getting it in the backdoor big time.
DavidO 03-16-2002, 11:50 AM ...you are getting it in the backdoor big time.
Yep, those :rainbow: s are givin' it to ya.
LOL
So who's the fawkin' co.?

criscfer 03-16-2002, 12:17 PM OK, let me give them a chance to respond to me on Monday. If that doesn't work I will see them in person at Moab. So either way I'll have something good or bad to report about this company.

 TWO INCHES ?!? Sounds like they were handled by FedEx or something. Even if they had been marked "FRAGILE" it wouldn't help. It seems that FedEx believes that FRAGILE is French for "Drop kick me here".
You may have a claim against the shipper if indeed they leave the seller straight and true! It happens more often than you would think and the shipper should be held liable.
Good luck!
TODDK 03-17-2002, 05:17 AM My wife just bought me a set of bead locks from trail ready. I have recieved two of them so far. But they are straght and look good. My problem was also fed ex, they damage the one set and sent it back, the other two took 15 days to get them to my house. Fed ex sucks when I order something else if they use fed ex I will not order from them! UPS has always got parts at my door at a timely manner and the boxes do not look like they went through the war! F fed ex!
I hope you get your beadlocks fixed and justify the situation!
p.s.
Trail Ready has done everything to make me happy, no problems with them.
criscfer 03-19-2002, 04:32 PM So there I was...Back in January thinking I don't want to wait till the last minute before Moab to have a big problem. So I ordered my Trail Ready beadlocks with time to spare. I got 'em at the last minute, there's a problem. See above note: don't stand next to me...
Good news, Trail Ready is willing to replace them and make sure I'm on the satisfied customer list. Each of the guys I've spoke with has wanted to make this right. Due to backorders for their wheel halfs it doesn't seem do-able by Moab. I understand they can't pull custom offset wheels out of their arse, but I wish they could.
More good news. The Avalanche Engineering locals offered me any help they could provide. I may accept their gracious offer of loaner wheels to make it to the show. Thumbs up to those guys.
Whose Sig line has visits from the f*ckup fairy? LOL That pixie has a nest in my garage.
bigdude 03-19-2002, 04:45 PM Damn, I'm glad my High-Impact beadlocks are shipping UPS.:flipoff2:
Supergper 03-19-2002, 05:23 PM Thats good to hear that they are going to make you a stisfied customer...thats what I like is CUSTOMER SERVICE...they get my business(well Avalanche:D, same basic wheel though)
jeeper111 03-19-2002, 09:07 PM I am willing to pay more than I think stuff is worth if the customer service is good. It just puts a smile on your face to know you are taken care of. If every shop out there treated people like my local shop The Pro Gear than I would just have everything made at my local machine shop and just forget mail order shops. For anyone who lives in texas dont ever use the pro gear. They suck a$$. The guy drilled an extra hole in the diff while installing an air locker and all the oil ended up outside of the carrier and it burned up on the highway. cost me 1800 big ones. That jackass is :rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow: :mad3: :mad3:  :flipoff2: :nuke:
tried to take him to court but hes to broke to get money out of. Just thought anybody around here should know.

That could be the stupidest mechanical error i've ever heard on this forum. I feel your pain man. It does teach a good lesson though: Just because something is "professionally" installed doesn't mean it's any better than if you'd have done it yourself.
