Hi. My name is John DeVillier, owner of Wizard Schools of Fabrications in riverside ca. First off I want to apologize for posting in the wrong forum, I'm new to the internet thing. What I'm not new at is fabricating things out of steel. I have been a fabricator in the sandrail industry for 25 years and started the first fabrication school that teaches with a hands on approach. Our school has been open for two years now and there has been many stories written in mags like Dirtsports,Sandsports and HotVWs about our program. This post is to share with this website this great opportunity for someone looking for this type of training so they can learn from professionals and have the confidence to build their own cars or trucks in a short time. There's nothing wrong with teaching yourself at home as I did but it took many years and some of the crap I built was pretty scary. Ether way it good that you try. We have several different classes that teach specific vehicles. Our classes run 6-months two nights a week for 4-hours,6-10 pm. We issue you all your welding gear, ( helmet, welding jacket, gloves for mig and tig, face sheld, saftey glasses ect...) yours to keep. This is hands on so you start welding the second night. five weeks of nothing but welding on mig and tig. Next you team up in teams of six and build a jig table that you will design and build a complete rolling chassis (rock crawler, sandrail, prerunner, your choice) with suspension under the watchful eyes of the industry's best. Again, you may learn on your own but for the the person that needs the guidance this class may be for you. The cost is $6,500 for the complete course. If you have more questions, please post them and I will get back asap. Please check out our website for more info. Thanks for the opportunity to speak on this cool website.
The Wizard.

This sounds like a great opportunity for people, to bad there is nothing on the East Coast.

Hey guys, thanks for the reply.

Izzy the man,
we have sandrail/pre-runner class starting January in Ca, anda class starting in Phoenix on Oct. 19. There are few spots left on these classes. If interested, call our corporate office for more enrollment information. No experience is necessary (we like it that way). Guys and girls are welcomed, it's fun and easy with our hands-on teaching (no tests).

KPJ,
we wish we were on the east coast at this time, but it may be another year or two before we get there, but we're working on it. Stay tune to our website, and watch for future articles in off-road magazines for our future growth.

Thanks again for your inquiries.

Maybe you should offer a condensed class, so some could take a 2-3 week vacay, and come out, get smart and do some wheelin' in the off hours. :D Do you offer financial aid? :D

We will be moving into a much larger building in Dec. and will setup a day class that will run Mon. through Thur. from 12 to 4 pm. This class is three months instead six. We have no financial aid at this time but are working on it.

Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm the new manager of the Phoenix Wizard Schools of Fabrication. My name is Doug Dixon. My off-roading history is a lifetime, which means 35 years in my case. I started out driving buggies at 9 years old (thanks Dad!), moved onto 3-wheelers in the early 80s, then back to buggies, quads, did several years of SCORE racing with my dad's team in the 90s, I was the Editor of Sand Sports magazine for 6 years, then worked for DuneBuggy.com selling high end Prerunners for 2+ years, finally got into the Jeep scene, and now I'm working for the Wizard School. If anyone has any questions about the school feel free to contact me. E-mail is KingGlamis@cox.net.

Thanks,
Doug

You need a school in Arlington,Tx .That is right between Dallas and Ft. Worth. There is so many custom vehicles here and different places to race something like your school would do very well I believe.

When you complete the course, do you get a certificate??

Hey Freerider5.0. We will certify you as a fabricator once you complete the course. This is hands on teaching so the more you put in the more you will get out of it. Once you finish the course you will have the confidence to build at home on your own. Many of our graduates have built some very nice sandrails and prerunners. For more info call one of our schools and we can answer any questions you might have. Thanks.

That's a great idea but we have to go one step at a time. The next school will be opening in Las Vegas, after that we'll start picking other potential cities.
