For those of you who have installed a Griffin for your Chevy V8.....What did you find to use for the lower radiator hose ?

I tried to fit a flex hose in there and it wants to kink. The hose neck on my water pump points straight down and the hose neck on the Griffin is several inches off the bottom of the the tank and angled in towards the fan . This makes for some weird angles and bends.

The ideal thing looks to be a pre-formed hose with some odd bends in it. I'm hoping someone may have run into this same problem and maybe found a hose with a part number .

If not it'll be "trial and error", I can see myself buying quite a few hoses.....:rolleyes:

I used a 12" flex hose. It's got some freaky bends, but does not knik. That was the shortest Vans had. I would like to try a shorter one when it gets time to replace it.

i just got a piece of wire, bent it to fit the way i wanted, took it to parts store and held it up against every hose they had until i found one that fit. prob is they can't come up with application from hose # and i didn't keep the # so next time i will have to do all over again.:(

The old bent coat hanger trick, eh ? Another one of my buddies suggested that as well, that's probably what I'll have to do. There's no tellin I'm going to mount my Radiator in the exact same place as someone else anyway.

I did the bent hose trick as well going from Toy radiator to 350 and it worked pretty well. Just go to a REAL auto parts store(you know, the ones with that old school parts store smell:) ), they're a bit more helpful than the droids at Checkers/Shucks/Kragen:D

Try a Napa 7470 hose.

i did it the big truck way and made a steel elbow (actually, a couple of elbows) and then just connected the ends with chunks of radiator hose.
