: Are aftermarket camshafts worth it?

There seems to be very little talk of aftermarket cams for suzuki engines here.
I have a 1.6L 8v and was considering a low range cam for better power when crawling. Do they make that much of a difference in a rig that's already geared quite low? Anybody had any good or bad luck with them?

I would think anything you can do to improve low-end torque would be good. If the cam you're looking at will provide more power down low, it should help with crawling. The only caveat would be to make sure it doesn't run out of steam at or near your street cruising RPM.

I have the SUMOII cam which is only available with the SUMOII head and am VERY pleased with the results! The truck pulls hard from idle all the way to 7000 RPM.

i have a nice billet throttle body spacer you can have, its anodized red so it should be worth about 15hp. (i really do have it if you want it)

have you thought about an adjustable timing gear?

They USED to sell those, but Rotational Dynamics seems to have gotten out of the business.
