I am about ready to start building my front axle, and if possible, id like to avoid using custom length shafts. The donor axles I have now have either no shafts, or neck-downs, so I am starting with nothing. Id like to shoot for a 60" WMS, but I feel that may be a bit too optomistic (sp), using stock axles.
What Id like is any info on stock inner 35 spline shaft lengths, and part numbers. I really couldnt find much by searching, other than a few discontinued PNs.

I think you're probably hosed on the 60" width; there's not a lot out there that'll let you get that narrow.
But, that said... here goes. These part numbers are from Randy's Ring-n-Pinion, BTW... so if you order direct, please mention who tossed out the part numbers. :)
All the lengths are center of joint to end of splines, also.
DAN660182-1 is 15.96", no application noted.
DAN660182-10 is 34.56", '78-79 F350 Sno-Fighter
DAN660182-11 is 18.7", '78-79 F350 Sno-Fighter
DAN660182-36 is 36.68", '85-88 F350
DAN660182-5 is 17.67", '77-91.5 GM
DAN660182-6 is 35.1", '80-86 GM
DAN76660-1X is 16.17", Left hand inner, unknown app (might be a different U-joint too)
DAN76660-2X is 36.97", unknown app (probably same truck the last one)
DAN3-82-871 is the 35 spline outer stub shaft.
Warn 38786 is the 35 spline locking hubs. (Randy's doesn't do hubs)
FYI, the 17.67 and 35.1 are the stock axles in a Chevy D60F. That is 69" WMS, so you might be able to weasel about an inch and a half out of it by using the 15.96" shaft, but that's only gonna get you down to 67.5ish.

Great! thanks for the info. Ill prolly end up goin with the shortest short shaft, and gettin a re-splined long one.
