: Pilot Bearing Install??

picked up a new pilot bearing this week. installing it in an engine that was auto, so i have nothing to reference. which end goes in first?

flanged end, meaning the bottom pic?

that would make sense, it's tapered and would allow the trans shaft to go in easier.
