: F-150 Brake Hardware

I am trying to assymble the brakes on a HP Dana 44. The outers are from a 79 F-150 but I am missing the little piece that slides in behind the caliper and caliper mount and then locked down by the bolt going into the caliper bracket. Autozone and Advanced Auto give me the deer caught in the headlights look when I tell them what I need. I looked through their brake hardware kits and loaded calipers but the little bracket piece is not there.

Anybody know where I can get these pieces or can sell me these pieces?

Thanks,

AARON

Maybe the stealer can help you? If they used that part into the 80's production, you might be able to order it from them.

I believe they call the two pieces a "support key" and "support spring".

I just bought a set of calipers for my 77 and they came with them. If your parts store guys truly don't know what those are...my suggestion would be to find a new parts store. Rockauto lists both parts. You could check www.napaonline.com and/or www.autozone.com as well.

ALL of the parts houses here could not find me a bearing. THey could not cross reference the OEM part number to save their lives. Once I found a car quest number (by looking in the one paragraph in the big assed book nobody looks in) I was able to cross reference it to four seasons to ready air. Price went from 80, to 95, to 45. All for a stupid ac clutch bearing.

Found one at NAPA. I think it was around $5.00 and came with the bolt, spring, and caliper key.
