Dunno but they come w/lockers from the factory, so they're a step ahead of a lot of shiat. Seriously, tho, no low range and no articulation. Won't be that much fun.

there are some build up sites out there. i used yahoo and searched "vanagon syncro" and found some sweet sites back when i was going to buy one. then i decided to build up my scout instead. i am half VW man, half IH man. syncro pick ups and crew cabs look sweet lifted, 35's and a SB chevy in the back

I was at Hollister last April and there was a Syncro gathering. One of the guys had his lifted with 31's  He managed to climb the Waterfall. To each his own, in HS I wheeled my Type III, pick-up conversion with 31's.

The THING would be a bad ass buggy I was at a junkyard a whle back and man put a tube frame and some tj axles under it and man you would have a sweet machine. (tj axles should suffice low weight and you will not need huge tires due to the wheel base) I drew some pictures up to see what it would look like , if I find them in my organized mess I will post them.

A guy with one of those hooked up with our club years back. He got stuck everywhere we went. Hell, he got stuck going into Pismo. After a few months he disappeared.

I agree. After getting my baja bug stuck enough times where my cruiser would have walked right through there it no way I would wheel a VW. Off road racing, hell yeah!!! But this is not the pirates of the off road 2wd racing circuit.....
