BIG_BLAZER86 10-16-2005, 07:13 PM I got a free FF rear ford axle, but I not sure what it is, I can't find any numbers on the housing except 840604 on the bottom of the pig.How can I tell the difference between a 60 and a sterling. I'm new to the Ford thing. santa 10-16-2005, 07:33 PM The sterling 10.25 doesn't have a fill plug in the coverand has 12 bolts The 60 & 70 have 10 bolts and a fill plug in the cover I might be corrected, this is from the west coast diff catalog. The only thing so far about the free axle is that its a 30 spline. masterbeavis 10-16-2005, 07:51 PM its a 60. On the dana rears, on the lower right corner of the pumpkin, you will see a 60, 70, 80, 53, 44 etc to identify the model.
