its for the shackle end of a traction bar on a soa application. there are so many to choose from not sure what to get. need some direction. just want one that will have some longevity. don't necessarily need a super flexy joint. i just don't want to have to replace it every couple of months. thanks

I am by no means an expert on the subject, but I believe FK and Aurora are the two I've seen mentioned most. I've got FK's and they've taken 6 months of DD use and a little wheeling. I even have them on my steering.

just looking for something that will last

I had (if my son didn't find them) about 16 of those I found on Ebay. They look nice till you turn the sideways. They are really thin. I don't know if it matters, but I wasn't taking any chances. I stuck them some where and forgot about them till now.

I prefer FK...as good as Aurora but a little less cash. Whatever you do, use as big a rod end as you can fit in the application. Rod ends were designed primarily for axial loading so in an anti-wrap installation like I'm imagining, you are putting it in bending...which is how about 95% of everything fails.

I agree. Get the biggest one that will fit in there, or use some type of cartridge joint. You can get those for ~ $30. I got mine from mad4wd.com (check the vendor section, search cartridge joint)

i am unlimited on size. i am going to buy 2 and i haven't made my shackle yet. it is a sam's off-road style traction bar that i made myself.

Freaking Kool? who knows, but Dave at Poly Performance sells them and you can find the website by doing a search for FK Rodends.
