The US ARMY has decided to send me to Ft Carson CO. I have a rather large 4x4/bogger/mini-monster truck. Is there any mudbogs in that area or 4x4 clubs that I would be interested in? I love mud and hope to continue to have fun with my truck. Its obvious that I will also be building a trail 4x4 for the area too, but I still love my huge beast. Check it out on my site listed below. Thanks for any help and if your in the Colorado Springs area I hope to meet you on the trails after my move in June!!

Very little mud to be found out here. Most of it is tight trails with rocks.

The local club I belong to is Bighorn 4x4, found at http://www.bighorn4x4.com

I am also a member of the 2-Big Broncos Rocky Mountain Chapter, a club that caters to all full-size vehicles. Check it out at http://www.2bbrockymountainl.org

Let me know when you're here, and I'll try to show you around a few trails.

i've been out here for 5 years, and ran with several clubs. they all suck. the good news is theres no reason to be in a club out here, so just go run with a couple friends. (all the clubs do is hold monthly meetings somewhere across town and take your money) there are tons of great trails, and i think you'll find our snow is even more fun than mud, plus, cleaner. some of the trails get muddy right after thaw, and a few have pits, but nothing major.

congrats for getting out here, its pretty much the best place to be for wheeling in the country.

Having said that, I hope you belong to COHVCO or UFWA at least..
Almost all of my club dues go to state and united, to keep those trails you're having fun on open..

Bighorns have a once a month meeting, but almost a trail run every weekend.. so please don't lump all the clubs into one type of category.

Our 2-BigBroncos chapter has quarterly meetings, hoping to have trail runs about once a month, and no dues.

I'm wanting to attend your next Big Horn club meeting. My friend might also be able to make it. What day is it? I think it is the first Wednesday of the month? I have been on trail runs with Cord L. and Chris V. before and just wanted to check out the club. Let me know. Thanks. ~Steve

Hmm, Colorado Springs, ehh? I bet we could squeeze that thing through Independence. :D There's plenty of trails around that truck will fit on, so long as you don't mind a little BD. May get a little tippy, though. :flipoff2:

Just in case it gets tippy!! HA!! Its only 98" wide. Maybe I will buy some 44"s with some offset rims to bring it in reasonably (axle hubs are already narrowed) and then I could run some trails. I will hopefully find a junk S10 blazer. I want to solid axle one with a 4.3L, cut off the top, full cage, and no doors. Something to beat on! I would run 39.5s. Hell, I will put rockwells on in it and switch the 44"s back and forth between the two!!

Yeah, we can squeeze that through Indy. You mind a little body damage? :D

Dunno about wheelin' a mini-monster.. but there's a Tuff Truck racing circuit recently started by Terry Keuhl/Lil'Foot.. and the Big Thompson 4-Wheelers will be having a sled-pull September 14-15th in Loveland (IIRC).

hey I'm gonna be stripping down my 72 blazer, all that will be left is the frame and body. (maybe the motor tranny and X-fer if someone want's those too) wanna buy it? $1200.00 with a fresh motor.:smokin: It'll be on a trailer for two weeks till it goes to the scrap yard (I just can't hang on to it)

That monster through Indy??? That would be something to watch! I heard it got a lot tougher a couple weeks ago. There are fences everywhere now. Haven't seen it yet, but a friend in our club went to help Terry Howe a couple weeks ago. Should be interesting. :) ~Steve

Pritty hard to find mud here. And your truck is a little large to go up most trails without doing unwanted body work. I went on a run last July, up Holy Cross, with bighorn 4x4 and had a great time with them.

Hey Paul, were you on that run?

Likely..

I'd be easy to remember.. big ugly brown Bronco with a carb that would sputter on any incline.. was my 2nd and last time out with that eldebrock carb.. went back to the motorcraft two-barrel.

Also, broke an axle-shaft on the trail earlier as well..

Going out this Saturday if you want to go. Meeting at the Southgate parking lot at 8:00 am.

Southgate is on the south end of Nevada.

We'll be running a local trail called Eagle Rock. So far I think 3-4 rigs are going.

We'll be on CB Channel 4

I would love to, But I am stuck here in petersburg Va. I am moving from here to Wa, and will be in the springs a few times this summer. Maybe we could go out then. The last time will be in early july, that is when I will be taking my rig up with me.
