Anybody try installing electric lockers from the fj80s into a fj40. I know it can be down but, have never seen anybody post anything about it here. If you have I'd love to read your comments, details of switch location, difficulty of mods if any...etc..
I'm planning on scavaging the local pick and pulls. Want to get some input before I actually start looking for the parts.

I've got an FZJ80 rear electric locking diff in the front axle of my FJ55. An FJ55 has the same axles as an FJ40. Had to get a new DS inner axle shaft from CV Unlimited with splines cut in it for the locker fork, and I had to wire it up. Here are some rough notes to myself, and a schematic drawn by my friend Phil Pasciak, who did the mod before I did.

The mechanical part of the mod was pretty straightforward. The electrical part was a little tricky.
