Converting an 85 Chev S-10 4X4 ExCab into an 8 lug 3/4 ton with a solid front axle.

BUT WAIT....... not your everday 'too wide' conversion

It'll be correct width and should look nearly factory stock. Gonna use 35/9.50 tires on 8" painted steel wheels (on the street...) w/hubcaps..... hahahhahaha

Truck is 2.5 w/5 speed and NP 207 (for now)
coming later.... divorced International Dana 24... and MORE

My friend owns a wrecking yard so parts are WAY cheap.

Been running around the 'yard' with a tape measure for couple days, between 'net sessions.

ANY POSITIVE INPUT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

my 'plan' so far:

Use the 'stock' Jeep SUA mounting w/2" lift springs and axle moved forward 1-2".
Reversed Jeep hangers and added crossmember(s)

81 Wagoneer 44 front axle (now 2:73) 60-1/2" wide~wms (driver side pumpkin)

Convert 44 front to 8 lug, using 70's Dodge 3/4 ton disc knuckles that happen to be flatops. Will Wagoneer tie rod ends fit the Dodge knuckles?

62 Ford 3/4 ton 8 lug rear (Dana 60 w/4:56) 62" wide~wms
Convert to SOA (should need adjusting up to match front) move rearward 1-2"

Use 4:56 carrier/gearset (also driver side pumpkin) from same 62 Ford 4X4 in front Jeep 44. Anyone know if there'll be a spline count problem?

Wagoneer or TJ Jeep steering arm will bolt to S-10 box

More to come.... just need more think time...

Um.........How about using a complete chassis and drivetrain from a fs blazer or k10 and save a lot of headaches? Then any future upgrades are easier and cheaper. Use a k20 and get 8 lug. I don't think that 2.5 or the trans will hold up to what you expect.
