Our hunting/tow rig is a 99 f250. 4x4 with the 7.3L...

dual optima red tops power the truck, mm 12000# winch, and 16 kc offroad lights(over 1500 watts, which comes out to 1500/12 = 125 amps, in just lighting).

no, all the lights are not used at once, but for different hunting scenarios.

we need a bigger alternator.

who makes the biggest/best alternator, that can handle this load.

the 95-97 trucks had an ambulance package option that put one huge alternator on there instead of a duals like they did on the superduty. You could see what it would take to integrate this alternator onto your truck cause it'll be a larger one.

The factory duals would be the best option to get you more power not sure what wiring modifications would be required for the 2nd alternator.

Find a local alternator rebuilder. The last rebuilder I talked to could spool a 1G alternator to 350 amps at 1000 rpm for only about $130. Oh yeah they rebuild your alternator with all new stuff too.

The 6G alternator is computer controled. You can't remove it without causing problems

You have to use the stock alternator, or upgrade to the dual alt factory set up.

Electrodyne. How does 350A sound? But they're big and expensive.

I have a 250A leece, 300A leece, and some 200A delco 21si units. Very simple and parts are cheep.

If interested let me know, or you could find a local car audio shop. The car audio market is where a lot of the high output alternators go to. I don't have prices on these are they are a special order, but I do know they are $$$$$$$. :D
