four wheel drive, i dont know if its a ten bolt or 12, not much of a chevy guy, i have a 85 toyota, but the axle was leaking like crazy out of the left rear drum,(went off a curb about 20) its definatly gear oil and not brake fluid like i thought, where and how hard is it to fix that seal/bearing? i have done plenty of axle take aparts and rebuilds on my yota, but what about a chevy? thanks for the help!:D

it's an easy fix. the seal is on the outside of the axle under the drum. you'll have to pull the diff cover, take out the cross pin bolt, remove the cross pin. take off the wheel and drum. push the axle in remove the c-clip if you have an open diff. pull the axle out and the seal is right there. put in new seal and put it all back together.

for an extra $4 ya might as well go ahead and put a new outer bearing in it while you've got it apart.
