Anybody got any pictures of a front view of there 460? Mine's ready to go in, but I'm having trouble mounting my alt.,power steering etc... I've got a bunch of brackets, spacers, pulleys and bolts, but I don't remember what goes where. I guess next time I shouldn't put all my 460,351M/400, and 302 parts in one box.
Thanks,KENNY

Here's a pic of one with Saginaw power steering. If you have a ford pump it's in the same place. Also I'd advise you to make brackets to relocate the alt so it's near the passenger side head.

that is a passenger car motor. A truck motor will have a completly different setup. IF you have a pass. car motor, you will need to modify the power steering/AC braket like shown in the pic, you need to whack off the ac part. it wont clear the steering box on the '79 and older. (dunno bout the '80 and up. You can relocate your alternator as well. Take the long bolt out, put it on the upper outer part of the head. Mount the swing arm higher and tweak it (off the motor) to work with the alternator in the higher spot., While you are at it, visit your local junk yard and snag a large case alternator off of a tarus or sable. Its a 100A unit normally. You might have to search for a different swing bracket, mine came from either the truck 460, a pass. 460, or a 351M/400. The difference is the curve.

I have my alt. located in that postion in my 90 f-250 and it fits fine. Thought I may add that if it may help some one.

What year engine/donor vehicle?
I've got some pics of my stock 86 F250 setup somewhere, if they'd be of any use to you, I'll dig 'em up, or take more.

Thanks guys! The block is a DIVE, I believe from a Lincoln. I figured out the Saginaw last night. It looks just like GubNi's picture above. I really don't like all that steel though. I think I'll be chopping alot of it off. Thanks for the tip on moving the Alt. up. I found a few more brackets in the back of the 78 from the original 351M which I hope will help. If not I'll head to the Pick-A-Part today and see what I can find. Thanks again to all!!!!:) :cool2: :)

I chopped my bracket off right past the outer bolt hole, down 30* or soto the next hole that went to the block. It looks nicer that way, cleaner too. I went looking for pictures of my motor before I tore it a part, I cant seem to find any of it assembled.... FOund plenty of it fried tho
