Does anyone know where I can pick up some of that aluminized sheathing that the OEM's use to protect wire looms & such in high heat areas?
I have some fuel lines that I'd like to 'protect' from heat, but I can't seem to find the stuff anywhere. Check with Waytek thinking they'd have it, but no. :(
I'm also open to other ideas of what to use, short of a fixed heat shield, which is impractical in this situation.
don't they make this in a heat reflective tape?
I pulled it off an engine harness once, it was spiral wound around some wires.

Yeah - I think I've seen that stuff too. I could make that work, though I'd prefer a sheathing product. Might be hard to wrap tape around the fuel lines attached to the fuel rail, plus the fact that there might not be as much of an air void with the tape versus a sheath.

Thermo-tec makes everything you need. http://www.thermotec.com/products/products.html
You can buy through summit. The adhesive backed stuff tends to peel off; at least it did on my car. Even after wiping down with acetone prior to application. I wouldnt recomend for a 4x4 that sees the elements.

That's the stuff I'm talking about !
Thanks man!
I recently used this stuff, http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/showCustom-0/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2005764/c-10101/Nty-1/p-2005764/Ntx-mode+matchallpartial/N-10101/tf-Browse/s-10101/Ntk-AllTextSearchGroup?Ntt=fuel%20line%20insulation
to insulate the fuel lines on my motorhome.

I use this to wrap my exhaust that runs close to the fuel line, filter & pump.

Also wrap the exhaust under the floor pans to keep my feet cool:cool2:
