: Dual Propane Tanks ???
tigger4x 03-17-2002, 06:00 PM Just a few questions to put before you ...
I have one 30 gallon LPG tank and don't think this will be near enough. Does anybody have the real specs on how I can pull this off?
The first tank is currently positioned L to R behind the back seat. When running two tanks, should I position them side by side facing Front to Back? I thought this would be the better way to put them or else how would I access the fuel filler on the forward tank?
The tank I have already has a gauge on it but it faces the tailgate. Is there any way to put the gauge up at the dash?
Thanks everybody!!
smurfsdad 03-17-2002, 06:02 PM How far ya wanna go ? 30 gals oughta take ya perty far
tigger4x 03-17-2002, 06:16 PM I have a 360 V8 and am estimating about 12-15 mpg ... approx. 375-425/tank. What I am trying to accomplish is a longer range of travel and not having to hunt for a station that sells propane.

broncoboy 03-28-2002, 01:23 PM i was told that you can get a guage that will hook up to a chevy style fuel guage. you need to find a place that is close to you that does lpg fuel swaps onto state/rec vehicles and they can hook you up. i found a place in sac that sold all the parts i needed. it was called propane preformance or something like that. good luck. ive got a 67 gallon lp tank ill give you

All that you are talking about run off of gas propane. Your car will run off of liquid propane.
unless you have some wierd sort of tank it is not really doable..
Lance 03-28-2002, 01:53 PM You should be able to get any of the propane stuff you need from your local propane supplier. Ex: Amerigas, Suburban Propane, etc... You can get a gage/sending unit that will hook up to your dash mounted gage from any propane supplier. You can get tanks from propane supplier. You can get hoses, t's, etc. from propane supplier.

Yes it is... Almost all tanks have a liquid AND vapor outlet on them.

Here's a shot of the tank that's on my rig now :p
Jason M 03-28-2002, 02:16 PM Mine does not have the labels. :(
I guess I will have to find one of the "bling bling" aluminum ones :D
can you run the con with only one tank?

I can get 9 gallons into one tank. I could get to Buck Island and back on one tank, most likely. I will probably carry both though, just to be safe. Im going to make a mount for the spare tank in my rubi-trailer.

And it wasn't TOO bling :grinpimp: bling... $175 brand new. You can get used ones a lot cheaper, too!
tigger4x 03-28-2002, 04:12 PM Maybe I'm gonna hafta get/fab a trailer to carry my camping gear and spare parts n stuff. I could have some sort of an extension hose made to go from the BIG tank in the trailer to my rig. The "small" tank I already have is about 28 gallons. IF I can get this one from broncoboy I'll have over twice that in the trailer alone!!;)
:beer::beer: to the broncoboy!
