Looking to go hunting in the yard and would like some guidance to narrow my search. I'd like to find a SF rear D60 with around a 65" WMS. Does such a creature exist and in what vehicle may I find it?

and only about 30% of them came with the SF D60-2. The rest of them had a D44!:flipoff2:

The 65" width may throw you a curve, but there are two other options. Late 60's Ford half ton trucks had a few 5 on 5.5 SF 60s, then there's the Hemi-Cuda SF 60. Good luck finding either, but there is the possibility.

I just came into a strange one... a short semifloat 60 housing, used in a lab for testing gear lube?

It measures 56" from flange-flange (came with no shafts so :dunno: the true WMS... I'll guess 62"+-) 35 spline/4.56:1+ open carrier. The bummer is it has small 2.75"x 0.250" tubes with 60-2ish 6-bolt bearing ends...same pattern as D44 front spindles. The tubes are both 19.125" from the housing to the flanges. Also has SOA pads @ 40", no shock mounts.

It has odd BOM and such: BOM 060 AA 100-2, build date 164 02 (June 2002) also had a barcoded sticker on the cover that parrots that info. The snout has 501 cast into it...

I am normally NOT an eBay person, but this was something I couldn't resist... cost me $152 including shipping from OH to NC (picked the biz with dock rate quote)

Hmmm... I got mine two wks ago with a "buy it now" price of $69, last I saw they had six left. Now it's an auction, WTF! Anyway the place was Excess Inc. Cleveland OH (216) 341-3099 (Eric Dunn@ ext 100)

My tentative plans involve having the housing/gear/cover shaved, retubing with 3"x0.500" and big Ford bearing ends at (?) WMS width.
