I am planning on doing a SAC to my '03 taco eventually and am starting to accumulate the parts needed.I have a guy locally who has a D44 outta a '79
Cherokee. From what I have read it is about 2" too wide on each side. Here is my question:

Can i buy this axle and have 2"cut off of both ends and be able to use axles and stuff for a Waggy?
The reason I am asking this is because I am really having a hard time finding a non-vacuum Waggy axle here in the rust belt. This is about the closest I have have come to date and am wondering if I should jump on it or should I hold out for a waggy?

Thanks in advance,
~Scott

You Can Grind The Welds Off The Inner C's And Then Shorten The Tube ,then Weld Them Back, Making Sure To Set Your Angles Back To The Correct Specs.

You might try searching www.car-part.com I've found many parts on that junkyard data base. If not I know where several axles are here in my area, and I'll be coming through your area (I-80) in about 3 weeks when I go home for Thanksgiving. I could maybe drop an axle off for you.
