the backing plate / dirt guard on my d44 outers is rubbing on the spindle. its fine when going straight, but when i turn it rubs pretty loud.

what's the deal? i changed them out a short while back to a completely different (and cryo'd) set, all lengths were the same.. only thing i did was take off the dust shield for the brakes.

could that 16 or whatever gauge have anything to do with that? off-setting the spindle a little? it wouldn't be an issue but i converted to slugs so now front is engaged all the time and it gets pretty annoying. maybe it'll just wear itself out?
