How do I pull Engine Codes for my 97 Rodeo?

ok so my 97 Rodeo (3.2l v6) is idling/running really crappy and its flashing the check engine light when I drive. How do I pull the engine codes to see whats going on?

'96 should have an OBDII set-up, so take it to your local Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, etc to have them pull the codes for free.


BTW, with that engine and idling problems and no other information... I'm going to guess intake manifold gasket with the codes indicating a lean condition in cylinders 2 and 3. Just a guess...
