About 2 weeks ago I pulled off the oil pan and half of the gasket and because of school, work, and family have not been able to get back out there and take the rest of the gasket off and replace it with a new one. I have the new gasket and the the ultra blue stuff to film over the gasket and the metal? Is there anything else that I should be concerned with because it sat the engine sat open in the garage?

Thanks

Ryan

P.S. It is great being a NEWBIE!!

There will be a coat of oil over everything. You just need to see if any small animals crawled in there and then ensure no dust of crap is stuck to your engine and then have at it.

If the gasket is cork don't use the permatex on any part but the seams cork is suposted to be installed dry the just like in a wine bottle the fluid keeps the gasket expanded and sealed and the biggest tip is DON'T OVER TIGHTEN I don't remember the actual recomended torque but is something like only 10-12 lbs it might even be less, I tighten mine by feel with my hand on the center of the wrinch tightening from the center bolt and working out a little at a time. I hope this helps and I'm not being to simplistic
