For those of you that have put a Chev small-block/SM420 combo in your Cruiser, is there supposed to be a plate between the engine and bellhousing? I assembled my pieces today and found a large (2½-3") gap between the bottom of the block and the top of the lower bellhousing cover. All signs say there should be something there. My donor was missing the engine so I wasn't able to see anything there.

Thats what I've heard it called before. I guess maybe I'm going back to the boneyard and finding one.

I believe you are refering to the piece of tin/sheet metal that covers the bottom of the bellhousing and encloses the flywheel and clutch? You should be able to find that at a junk yard.
