: front axel popping!!!
purevil71 10-23-2005, 05:05 PM OK, after taking out my broken locker and replacing it with a Fozzy locker until I can get my new locker ordered, I figured that would solve my front pop. No such luck!
I've replaced everything I can think of. And I know it's not an axel cuz I just installed a new set of Newfields. Axel housing is fine, and it's mostly popping on the short side. Put a new lockout on that side as well.
Anybody got ANY ideas on this???
smitty808 10-23-2005, 05:14 PM Did you search fawker??:flipoff2:
I have seen this thing inside, and out...can't find a thing wrong with it.
It HAS to be a hub, but he replaced it with one that came off a truck that was never offroad(probably never locked in), and the same thing.

Have you wheeled the Newfields yet or are they brand new? The kid down the road broke 2 short sides in 3 days on 33's.

This was only the second trip on them. And I haven't really leaned on them as of yet! I was having the same problems before I put them in, that's why I replaced the locker (thought that's what it was at first).
Toolbox 10-24-2005, 05:41 AM Brent, read this. May have two problems here.http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=356974

Thanks for the link...I'm gonna try that and see what happens. If it works, I'll be putting my locker back in and taking the Fozzy out. Not that I don't like the arm workout, but 40 acers to turn around is just stupid!

Myanarchy 10-28-2005, 04:29 PM Got any more details on that rear suspension? Type of goofy leaf, how it works on climbs, traction bar, and size tires?
purevil71 10-28-2005, 04:51 PM Got any more details on that rear suspension? Type of goofy leaf, how it works on climbs, traction bar, and size tires?
The Goofy is a main front samurai spring mounted to a steel plate thats sleeved for the leaf as well as being able to bolt the leaf to it, Trac Bar is a Grizzly Fab unit, and tires are 33x12.5x15 LTB's
I love the rear goofy's. They don't unload at all going down or up hills. I also have my mounting plate made so that I can pin them shut when I'm driving the Sami on the road. Hope this is what you wanted to know, if not, let me know and I'll do my best to answer any questions you have.
