i dont know if i am under-revving or over-revving when i shift  seriously. and none of the amigos/rodeos have a tach in the junkyard so i have no clue there either.

I shift at 3500ish but i would like to have a base clue of where i am supposed to or how high i should "comfortably" keep it on the highway.

Redline = 6000rpm. No yellow on the gauge. I find that the power curve really flattens out after 4500. No power in the 5000-6000 range. BTW - I run the CALMINI cam.

If I'm in a hurry I shift 1st and 2nd at 5k. you have to get 2nd up there or 3rd will just bog.

I am use to AMC v-8s and shit so hearing the engine at that high of an RPM keeps making me think its gonna blow

mine falls on its face after 5000-5500, but that hasn't stopped me from frequently hitting 6500-7000 on occasion 4 wheeling when i need some wheelspeed:flipoff2: the 2.6 is fairly torquey and low revving as far as 4 cylinders go.

I also shift at 5000rpm when in a hurry, no point in taking it to 6 grand. But normally i shift at 3k. Also cruise on the highway at about 3k to 3.5k.
