I need new spindle nuts for my Chevy D60 front, and would like to find some similar to the 1/2 to Chevy type with the tit on the inner nut that engages a hole in the lock ring, as opposed to the 1 ton Chevy ones that I have where the inner and outer nut are the same, and you bend a tap over on the lock ring (similar to a C14 rear). I've heard that certain Fords (F-350s) are this way, anyone know which ones?

My 1 ton Chevy front end has the ones that use the locking pin and locking ring. I believe that it came from an 81 Chevt 1 ton.

80 and later chebby have the tit-n-ring you desire. 79 chebby and ford have the other :lame: style I don't really know for sure about the dodge stuff, but I think I's the same tit-n-ring. My 79 chebby has :lame: style, my 82 and 87 have the tit-n-ring, my 79 ford have the :lame: hth!

Thanks guys, will try the '81+ Chevy application. Mine is an '80, guess it was either switched or was a transitional year.

Just had another thought: Don't some of the newer Fords have 1 piece self adjusting nuts (just crank 'em down)? If so, do they fit the Chevy axles, and what year Ford, and about how much $?

Holy crap! Just called Burt Chevy, they have 1 of each, $27 for the inner nut and $14 for the washer job!

Watch out for the nuts. My 81 Chevy Dana 60 had the lame nuts with the tab washer. It also had the skinny necked down shafts like the 79. :barf:
You can get the bearing nuts/washer that you want from Spicer for about $10. per side.Dont buy from GM, I made this mistake only ONE time after ordering them in without asking how much!!!
