I have a 94 Yukon 5.7L TBI with about 130,000 miles on it, I love it but I do notice its struggling especially at low revs and gear shifts. I was planning on installing a throttle body spacer to help with atomization. Do you guys think its worth it?

Anyways its has a block warmer installed and with its thirst for gas and my limited time made me plan on starting to use it this winter ( my winter is 32:-5 ). Never used it before so i was wondering about how much power it consume and if i should just plug it in all night.

Oil wise it runs some 10W-30 Mobil 1 synthetic, Im assuming it will run smooth in the cold.

With some newbie intuition I decided to remove the intake air box to help it breath better i don't know if it helps but I hope it does, if it doesnt or you guys know its doesnt please tell.

Another quick question was that when my engine is completely warm it idles real low like 350-400 RPM is that good? I've noticed a squeaking noise I think is caused by some loose belts (serpentine belt) also when I'm barley giving any throttle its seems to start getting but and kind suppress power. If i could get your guys opinion and/or knowledge i would be very appreciative.

Could be an injector problem.

Try unplugging your EGR valve vacuum line and blocking the vacuum line. If it runs fine like that then you know you need to replace the EGR. My 89 TBI use to dog on the bottom and sound like it had a cam at low end because the EGR went bad.

I checked the EGR but to no cigar, im trying to locate the O2 sensor so i could pigtail a Air-Fuel gauge to see if its anything to do with the fuel injectors. Im thinking of having the serpentine belts looked at but i still can't pinpoint the issue. The engine bog is'nt really present during idle but more inbewteen 45mph to 70mph a classic EGR failure symptom but it passed the idle check. One thing that i doubt has anything to do with it is my exhaust fell off. Rusted to shit only 90% of the muffler remains but I can't complain it sounds like a beast. I put the intake box back on and the idle seems to be higher but I still experience the 45-70mph throttle bog.
