I am getting ready to put a set of JC Whitney Rear Leaf Spring, 7 Leaves for CJ7 on my 86 CJ7 SOA. I have a brand new 258 and a T5 tranny. I am wondering if I am going to need some kind of wrap control? Is the Part's Mike bar any good? What about the JC Whitney bar? Here is the URL http://www.jcwhitney.com/item.jhtml?ITEMID=58434&BQ=jcw2

Yes you will. Do a search on wrap bars, there are tons of threads about them ;)

If you run an SOA, there is really no way around it. You'll need an anti wrap bar.

I have a friend that made one for his jeep that is essentialy the same thing as that JC Whitney one and all he did was use Ford radius arm bushings. Just make sure that the arm is long enough and the controle arm isn't going to move more than your bushings / joints can handle.

The JC Whitney one is $68.99. What is wrong with it? The rest of them are at least $200.

The problem is that the JCW bar wont work, Go with the design that attaches to the axle in 2 places and to the frame with a shackel. These are proven to work and work well.

I beleive the JCW one will work, but will also limit your suspension movement. That's bad.
I don't know how well Parts Mike's bar works, but I have seen a couple for sale on this board, so I would guess not too well.
The Sam's style, like Weezer described is the way to go.
