Ok, I had a pair of dana 60 axles that I was going to install onto my tracker, but after closer inspection of axles they are junk. I know toyota can be used as well ( from reading dozens of search results here on PBB ) but local junk yards dont have any.

I am hoping to find solid axles with a lug pattern of 5x 4 1/2" with leaf spring setup... any ideas on what to look for in the junk yard that will have axles with this lug pattern? Sorry if some find this post stupid, I am still new to mods and need help

jeep axles perhaps. d30 front d35 rear which is about what stock sami axles are in strength

i would say run toyota axles but if you cant find any then maybe you should buy a toyota truck or 4runner with a blown motor and take the stuff off of it you need and then part out the rest and see if you can make your money back.

y are the d60 junk and what do you want for them.

I agree that you should go with Toyota. As far as finding them, you could pick up a used (blown engine or thrashed) Toyota. In fact, I am sure you could look on the pirate parts section or perhaps post a "wanted" ad on zukiworld.com.

Someone has to have a set near you.

Yota axles are six lug, but your going to have to be wiling to switch wheels if you want to open up your options. Yota and Wagoneer axles are the same width. And I'm SURE the junk yards around there have waggys. They are 44's and six lug as well. They stopped making closed nuckle in about '73 or '74, so anything after that should be good. The axles switch from passenger side drop to driver side in '85 and stay the same until '91. You could even get a waggy front 44, and a yota rear from a two wheel drive, as those might be easier to find there. V6 yotas have beefier rear ends, but theres some dispute of weather it really makes a difference, as they are pretty strong little axles. Hope this helps.

I would love to go toy axles, but adapting from 6 lug to 5 lug with correct bolt pattern adapters from axle to rim seems to be not available as I cant find the adapters for this particular set up. Thought I had found a set for $225.00 but it ended up being not what I needed.

The other problem is winter is coming FAST ( got snow flurries today ) and needing to get the tracker up and boggers on before winter really sets in as the driveway to new house is VERY steep and see that driveway being a problem here in winter lol

Waggy????

225 for adapters. its cheaper to buy new rims... buy toy axles and new rims

new rims is the answer
buy rims that fit your tires.

y buy an adapter when you can rims for less and more abundant.

i think you should do rims and toy axles. and put your tires on new rims.

am i beating a dead horse yet ?

How about a Cherokee/Grand Cherokee? Some of the Grands with the tow package have a 5 on 4.5 D44, right? You can get a Cherokee with the Chrysler 8.75 (is that the right size I'm thinking?). Still only a 30 front....or grab a Waggy front D44 and use d35 5 on 4.5" jeep outers?

i say sell your wheels, go to harry's u-pull-it in hazleton and get some waggy 44's, i was just there saturday, there's tons of them there, you could probably find some 60's there too if you wanted them. then look for a set of beadlocks in the classified sections of forums, you should be able to do that and not lose much money. and harry's is cheap, no part costs more than $100

Yeah, I am starting to think the best alternative is to break the boggers off of the beadlocks and sell the beadlocks and just get the best available axles and get rims to match the axles. Will check out Teeples ( boneyard ) for waggy's, grand cherokee's or any other jeep with solid front and rears.

Anyone interested in a set of 4 10x15 King beadlocks in perfect condition? lol

Hazleton??? Your not too far from me then Domba420

I might have to take you up on that offer, but dont think it will be this season, allready started to tear the tracker down when we found out the 60's were just big paperweights lol. In the spring I would be able to hook up and go riding with you guys some time though. Thanks fer the invite, sounds like fun

Wish I were closer...I have a set of dana30's and 35's out of a YJ locked and geared that I am needing to unload. They have your lug pattern I do believe.

You know I believe that the mid to late 70's dodge 1/2 tons had the 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern. They should be fairly accessable and not cost to much. I used to have a 76 Plymouth Trail Duster with Dana 44's and the 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern... It did have the automatic hubs though.
