I know a couple of guys have put on 60 tubes and ends, that is slick, what I'm trying to see is if anyone has slapped on from spindle out to run 31 spline. I know the Dana44 spindle will not let the 31 spline thru it. Also know you would have to figure out seals, or have gear oil in the hubs (no biggy). What can you use? What have you done? TIA.
My Brother (Airzuki on the board) has a rear FF 9" with toy minitruck spindles and Landcruiser hubs filled and drilled for 5 on 5.5..... he also is running samurai rotors and 300zx rear calipers (with park brake).
Is this different enough for you???

At the NWRCA last year (and the previous year) a guy with the american flag jeep w/ 38s appeared to be running a full floating 6 lug 9 inch rear end. Somebody on here probably knows him or at least how he built the rear....anyone...bueler, bueler, bueler:D

Sounds like Captain America to me. I saw him at CalRocs, but didn't get a good look at the rig so i guess i'm not much help.

tankota explains how to put toy outers on a 60
its quite informative.
wont anser all of your questions but if
you ask tankota he might be able to help you
further.

Stinkbug,
Your right it was captn america. Even his ford pickup (with two huge american flags flying on it) was painted with stars and stripes this last year:)
Your sig line made me laugh cause I'm also not sure I can get my cruiser out of the garage now that it has 38.5s and about 4 more inches of lift:D
I had previously been figuring out how to put chevy 6 lug spindles rotors etc on a rear dana 60, dana 44, toyota pickup, and cruiser rear end. I dropped it cause the 19spline chevy outers are just too weak to deal with and the cost of 30 spline slugs or lockout plates was to high to make it worth my time. The other bummer was that the 30 spline full floater dana 60 axle shafts can't be shortened and made to have 30 splines on both ends...there isn't enough meat to be able to cut the flange end down to a 30 spline shaft.
I was basicallly going to have an adapter plate machined with the housing bolt pattern on one side and the spindle pattern on the other side.
As for my 6 lug semifloating 30 spline 60...it is pretty easy to make and very inexpensive (until you add on a 3/8" thick diff cover, new bearings, a 1350 yoke, new seals, new perches etc etc.:D )
