I need some opinions on what locking hubs are better? I have the chance to swap external or internal hubs on a chevy 44 front I have. Whats better? Both are Warn premium... I also have a set of the full time slugs for spares.........

Internal are far superior than external. The external ones WILL keep breaking bolts no matter what you try. Just go internal and carry the slugs for spares.

Yep internal. EASY to change - don't even have to take off a wheel. Just remove cap, un-do two snap rings and replace.
Nice and easy and the Warn's are lifetime waranteed ;)

Internals also seal out water better with the o-ring.

The internal ones are better in most every way and as for strength they are much better but still breakable. Just ask H8 or amyone who pushes the strenght of a 44. The hubs can go but put in a slug and you are goos to go but sheer of the bolts like an external, you are in for some work.

This is like debating 35c or 60... There really is no good reason to use externals.

HEY! Back off, I have seen a 35c with a super kit live where a 60 would break  :flipoff2:

Unless you've got a 50 year old set that hasn't broken yet;)

I don't see it... I was at Tellico last year for the Dixie Run when I saw two 35c's crawling back down the mountain with logs strapped so the shafts wouldn’t walk out while the big boys were still bouncing on the rocks.
Don't get me wrong I have a 35c but lets call a spade a spade or a clip a clip.
