If you go to reply #8, #9, and #10 of the following thread there is a picture of a rear facing pitman Saginaw power steering box. It looks incredibly like a Scout II box except that it mounts on the INSIDE of the frame rail. According to the thread the box is an International item. I would love to use this box on my coil sprung 67 Scout 800 but I cannot positively identify it. Do any of the guru's here know what this is and where I can get my hands on one? I am currently at a standstill...help.

Thanks,

Post 6 is a Scout II box, the 8/9/10 post isn't it mounts to the wrong side of the frame to be a Scout II box.

It's a 2wd 70's Travelall or pick up. I have a couple on the shelf. PM me if interested. I posted on JI also.

Take it down to the F-100 Steering Box Conversion. It should work in your application and, in most cases, a dropped pitman arm would not be required. You can find these for a song at the Pick-N-Pull. :smokin:

Here's a pic of a '74 100 2wd PU box....outside the frame. I also recently took a good look at a '71 1310 2wd...outside the frame. Did IH also use an inside-the-frame box, as Jeff is saying?

Yup. Already sold Mike the box. He should have it by now. Here's a pic of a 1971 1010 Travelall with the steering box on the INSIDE of the frame.

So...did the '69-73 1010's use the inside box, and everything else outside, or what other factors determined it?
