Didnt do jack $hit on Saturday, except hang out with the family. Sunday had some "honey-dos" to take care of and got a little bit done with the rear wheel wells, (one side any way) I need to cut a couple of inches out of it and cap it. I was gonna start the other side, but I ran out of O2(crucial to the flame cutting process):shaking: Im done for the day.

I wheeled.....
fawker.....
Sunday at 12:30 pm I shoveled the LAST shovel full of the 30yds of Top Soil into the wheel-barrow and spread it out.... rolled, smoothed, covered.... Hydro-Seeder in Monday.... then done.. bought friggen time.
In the spring I'll be getting more, and finishing off the rest of the yard.... but for the winter, I'm done with the stuff I *need* to get done.
Maybe I'll try to go wheeling next weekend... if I'm not up at my folks place helping by dad finishing up the wiring so the sheet-rockers can get in.... we'll see.
I also sold an axle and got rid of one of my "spare" IH motors :D..... more link money :grinpimp:

Almost have this stupid axle swap done. In a way, I wish I wouldn't have even done this. Been one stumbling block after another.
Got about 95% of the remaining parts in this week. Still waiting on the Tie Rod, and ends from Snoopy. Muffed the threads on one of the steering arm holes, but I was able to retap the threads. Boy, I was sweatin that one. But I got everything else assembled, and torqued to specs. Spent Fri. & Sat. pulling the old axle and installing the new. While I was at it I replaced the front spring bushings with dodge spring bushing form Energy Suspension. I had to get a couple of brake line adapters to make the chevy brake lines mount up, but that was no big deal. Today I went out to the farm and grabbed a proportioning valve, and discovered I will need a few more adapters. I then realized that I will have to change out steering horns. The 74/75 axles used a bigger drag link ends than the previous years. So I had to clean up one that I have been holding on to for a couple years, and get it painted. The spent the rest of today picking leaves up

Damn! The work picture is pretty full and more is added everyday. May have to "pay" someone to work on the Scout. Sheet, haven't even been to the shop at all last week, or otherwise, I'd be wrenchin' pulling the front clip and the 304.
Oh, did I mention? For sale '79 304 / 727 / 20. Make offer. :smokin:

Put my new BCB gas cap anti-spiller-overflow dohickeys on. (5 min) My garage doesn't smell so much like a gas station now. :cool2:
Replaced valve cover gasket on the 152 to keep the oil refilling frequency to a minimum (15 min). :)

Rusty has a fuel system, rear disc brakes, turned front brakes, MG alt, and a fully functioning TBI system now.
Oh, I also mounted the rest of the 42s for it. I need to get some wheel bearings and then Rusty will be able to be put on it's own wieght.

You seen one greasy boat anchor, you seen 'em all! I'll trade you for it if you can install my 5.0 / ZF combo. :cool2: This 304 runs great, trans shift hard and strong, TC needs bearing work, have a good one that I'll throw in. What'd you say? Is it doable? :smokin:

The 'new parts' held up just fine and yes, it was a BIG improvement. The brakes work better now than they did before I had my JY HB rebuilt/high-flowed and the hydroassist made steering the rig MUCH more enjoyable. Instead of fighting the wheel and getting it wrenched out of you hands, steering is now a comfortable one-handed job.
I got the rig hopping up and down searching for traction in the pic above. I didn't break anything, but I think the combination of dropping all the weight of the IH mill on the front springs and some axle wrap really put the hurt on my front springs. They sagged another inch or two during the course of the day on Saturday. They are so flat now that the increased eye to eye distance has my front shackles laid way back. Looks like it time to make up some new packs.... I have some stock front packs laying around. I might try to add another main leaf (minus the eyes) and see how that works. I don't want to spend too much on it since I'm planning an axle swap/new suspension here before too long.

I chased down a lingering engine noise. Cleaned my carb, changed plugs adjusted timing, fired her up and the noise was gone, so I took a quick spin around town and it ran great...
right up to when I turned the corner to my driveway.
Then pop pop pop and the noise is back. Guess I'll be going in deeper...
Fortunately the was a great halloween party at the bar down the street to take my mind off my lack of problem solving progress.

I finally disposed of the remains of the Midas.. made a deposit at the dump. Loaded up two of my Dana 60 rear ends and brought 'em home, too, along with misc other crap still at or around the shop at my mom's.
Cleaned my shop. Cleaned it enough to get three rigs inside and out of the weather.. but not *quite* done.
Won't be done until the new "mini-barn" I ordered Saturday shows up this weekend and I can move some of the crap out of the shop and into the barn. ;)

Friday after work went over to Uglyscout's house an loaded up front end he had for me. Chevy, flat tops, spindles, caliper brackets, so over the next year I am going to build it and then spring over my daily driver:D :D. After I dropped it off at my parents house I headed down to Corvallis, for the Beavers football game. My buddy had scored some FREE Club Level seating being he is an Athletic Alumni.
Saturday, got up early and went to watch the Crew races, then headed over to some friend tailgate party. They had an omlet bar set up, so we had omlets and Corona, tailgated for a while, then went to check out a Pinzgauer someone had spotted tailgating. Well we found it and it was a Red Bull sponsered rig, just handing out free Red Bull or Red Bull and Vodka. The Lady was really nice and not hard to look at, so we had no choice and had to take a free RB and vodka. Headed back to the tailgate party, said our good bys and walked over to tailgate party number two! There we had smoked ribs, beer, and more smoked ribs. Game time came around and off we went, found our VIP entrance with no line and an esclator up to our level. Once we got up there, they had 2 bars, 2 pizza place and a mexican place, couches and chairs everywhere with big plasma's incase you didn't want to sit in your seat while watching the game. Okay.....Okay long story short, KILLER SEATS, Bevs lost, KILLER SEATS FOR FREE....then we hit two more tailgate partys on the way back to the truck. Later that night we hit a movie, pizza then a little dive bar in Philomath, just for fun!:D:D
Sunday, went shooting, then headed home for a Chili with my parents and sister. My Mom made the reciep posted by Priest in the Chit Chat forum, and it came out great.
With wheeling last weekend, and the game this weekend, I have had to killer weekends in row!!

Well sort of.... more like ex-girly 2 / me 0. Her new girlfriend was a bull-dyke and basically thought of herself as a split-tailed man. The ex-girly was bouncing between them like a pinball, but the two she was playing wouldn't have anything to do with each other.:flipoff2:
Even though my final score was 0, I still feel like I won!!:D :flipoff2:
