i have a 1992 isuzu amigo, and i was wondering if there are any other isuzu performance parts dealers. i already know of calmini, centerforce, and independent4x.com. i am really looking for anything performance wise, but mostly a performance throttle body and throttle body spacers.

Amigo performance  no just kidding, I was able to get some oomph out of mine without affecting how reliable it is.

1) Exhaust: big one right there. Mine is a pacesetter header to a 2.5 pipe, to a high flow cat. STRAIT back to a 40 series flowmaster, over the axle and out the back in the stock-ish location.
Not too loud, has a nice rumble. Performance gain was FELT

2) intake: my intake system is custom made from 3inch PVC :flipoff2: a 2 inch to 3 inch PVC adapter fits in the stock throttle body rubber hose PERFECTLY. The pipe is drilled and fitted with the correct side ports (pepboys now sells a kit with hole saw for the ricer crowd for putting the vacuum lines on a intake tube)
a 3 to 2 inch rubber adapter from the PVC section of Lowes fits perfectly to put the MAS onto the pipe.
The entire airbox is scrapped in its place is a modified F-250 airbox ran to a snorkel.
I am not going to fuck around with a bigger MAS or throttle body as I don’t know what will fit and it flows very well as it is.

3) Spark:
stock coil is replaced with a high performance one (pick a brand and use it) and will soon be replaced with a MSD. No one makes a 8mm wire set so i just got a "universal" 8mm wire set for a V-8 with the correct plug ends and mix/matched the correct length.
Plugs are normal NGK

I can easily get 80mph (with the aerodynamics of a brick while on 33 TSL's) but dont go faster due to the bias ply death vibrations
I can snap pics of any of it ya want.

I can break the tires loose on dry pavement and I am replacing the clutch this week

Why? Either one of those is probably going to do zip for the 2.6. TB spacers work great when fuel is added prior to the TB plates (like on a TBI setup), but adding volume to the intake after a TB on a EFI rig is not going to do anything. Especially since that air takes a 180* turn to get to the cylinders. Save your money.

Now, since you have a '92, your option is to upgrade to the 93+ style TB and MAF. This will also require you to replace the upper intake common chamber so the TB can bolt to it. This will give you a single large TB plate (instead of the two small ones you have now) and a large open MAF (instead of that asmathic one that came prior to 93). It is all plug and play.

Beyond that, the rest is hard machine work. Balance it, bore it, deck it and put it together right. You can also go with a 93+ head, as it has smaller combustion chambers. Depending on how much machine work you do and all the final numbers, this should put you up to 9.3:1. This will most likely require premium gas, but...

You can throw all kinds of external parts on it, but compression is the key.

Good Luck,
Michael

No one mentioned CAM upgrades.

Two manufactures. Calmini and Delta Cam.

http://www.deltacam.com/tech.php

From a recent email from Delta:

The 2.6 cams can be ground to a 260 grind for low end torque and mid range.
We can also grind them to 272 for more mid to upper rpm power.
The cost for grinding those cams is $54.56 on your cores.

Can you post some pics of your intake setup. Thanks.

My truck is parked at my dads house about 45 mins away from me so i cant take a picture but i can explain how it is set up. I used the stock rubber intake hose, put a performance cone air filter on it, and mounted it so its pointing behind the headlight.

i disconnected my air box and there is nothing for me to mount a filter to.
do i need a MAS adapter?
mine doesnt look like either of these!

Prior to 93, the MAF has a flange on it that a filter can fit over. I think it is 2 7/8" or something like that. K&N makes a filter that will fit, but you have to go through the book to find the PN. There is only one with that ID. Measure whatever you might have first.

After 93, the MAF has a 4-bolt flange on the air box side. Time for you to get creative and build something to make it work. A piece of plate, a chunk of tube and some welding will get you there.

Good Luck,
Michael

Yes. :D

It works.

If you have the older MAF, it has its own flange that a filter can mount on. Take it off the air box, measure it, find a filter that works and put it on and tighten the clamp. Start the truck and be happy.

You will need to fab a bracket to hold the maf in place, as it is held in place by the air box. But, again this is not rocket science.

Ok here are some of the "older" pics. not much has changed except i have a shorter tube going from the Mass Air to the throttle body and a new air box and will post pics of that also.
GHETTO FAB !!! :flipoff2:

now the little adapter i made here you can go to the bling ricer section of PepBoys (dont know if anywhere else has it) and buy one

This was the old airbox that went to the snorkle. It is now a cut down F-250 airbox (pics later)

The PVC is wraped in plain ol aluminum foil to keep the temps down and works realy well.

::::::edit:::::: ok the links FROM PIRATE are working funny  :::::::

Michael,
Does it make any differance how far you mount the MAF from the throttle body? Can you mount them right together?

the only issue I would see is the valve cover would be in the way for a "strait line" bolt on.

Performance wise. sorry no clue there

the exhaust is the most important since it has a pellet style cat and the exhaust makes a complete circle under the truck worst design ever

If it stops raining, I might be able to get pics of how easy it is to make a new one

So these tricks should help on my 88 trooper.

I did the same thing with my intake . I could feel the differance in power . I have a 91 2.6L amigo . But I noticed you don't have the air pump . do we really need it ?

You're not going to gain anything performance-wise by removing it, if that's what your concerned about. I took mine off so I could move the alt up to where the air pump normally sits and there was absolutely no notable power difference before and after. Just leave it there unless you have a compelling reason to do otherwise, IMHO.
