I bought a SM465/2WD tranny and thinking of putting it on my 4x4 rig. However, I was told that I can't use it unless I change the output shaft to 4WD.

Are the 2WD and 4WD versions the same? If not, how much work and money are we looking at? Guesstimate is good enough.

:mad2:  :( :emb4:

2WD and 4WD trannys have different output shafts. You would have to change this to get it to work in a 4WD application. Advanced adapters, I think, sells adapters to convert the tranny for different xfer case uses.
As said before, its cheaper to get a 4WD tranny! :skull:

depends on what your puttin it on, if its a dana 20 then u can get the 1" adapter from novak for like $490, and it doesn't matter if it's 2wd or 4wd, but they make several different adapters for all applications, and usually have a 2wd and 4wd version, and the price is usually the same, now if u are goin to use a 205,203,208 or something, then a 4wd would be better
