I have a titan gooseneck 26+5. it has a wood deck with full length rub rails. When tieing down one vehicle it is easy to go from the front of the trailer to the front of the vehicle and from the luvered dovetail to the rear of the vehicle. Now that we a moving two rigs on it the rear of the front vehicle and front of the rear vehicle are problematic. Getting a j-hook rachet strap to anchor to the rub rail is sketchy at best and may be dangerous. There is very little of the j-hook in contact with the rub rail if the straps are at enough angle to control the vehicles movement.

So, has anyone used an e-track system with heavy loads (our rigs are full sized on a minium of 37s)?

What type of deck anchors do you guys like?

Is there a different technique for anchoring to the rub rails? I was thinking about using rachets that have a chain on the end if I can find them.

Any other suggestions?

thanks

When I put two on one gooseneck, I cross strap them. This puts enough angle on the straps to get them to the rub rail (I use ratchet straps with axle straps on my rigs). The ratchets with chains would also work fine. E-Track is strong enough if attached at every hole with a strong backing under the wood deck. The rings that hook to the e-track can be rated as high as 4,100 lbs. each. I've seen it in the past, but I don't suggest it, but you could tie the two rigs together, then tie down the other ends to the trailer. I'm sure this would work fine, I just wouldn't do it myself.
