on saterday I wrecked my truck (91 F-250 single cab 2wd with a 4.9 straight 6) when I wrecked it broke the trany housing (ZF 5 speed) well I need a new traany and whant somthing with a better OD gear cause I have 4.11's in the back. I need it to bolt up easaly and still have a good low 1st gear (no auto's)

you don't have another option to give you od and the low 1st gear.

I'd either change the rear end to something w/ 3.55 or 3.73 gears or run a larger diameter tire to give you the better od gear you're looking for.

there realy isn't any good cheap options for what your trying to do.
what size rubber are you running?
I have 235/85's on mine, with the same drivetrain as you have, only with 3.54's, and I actualy think it would be better off with 4.10 gears in it.. I'm only turning 2000rpm at 65mph right now..

should be good depending on what you can get whole rear axles for that might be a far cheaper option to go w/ a stock rear gear rather than buying R&P and then setting it up. I can get the 10.25 that you've got under your truck for under 150. 3.55 was the other gear ratio that was avail from the factory. and if you keep your current tire would work well for you. but might not be enough gear for the larger 285's

I'd get a 10.25, so it bolts in, and has the right size wheel studs and driveshaft yoke.
