how do you get these things to balance and not shake you to death when you drive it down the road?

You don't. :D

Do a search for golf balls (seriously) Some here on the board have tried them and they seem to work good.

Never balanced mine. If you leave them aired down you'd be surprised how smoothly they ride:D

I never balanced mine and they were fine. I did however add some balancing sand(equile or something), the last time I mounted them and it seems to help a little in the front. Not that noticable in the rear though.

Go to the main POR page, go to the tech article on rock stomper bead locks. BillaVista and myself got them, and he's had success using BBs. I'm about to finish mine, shoul dhave them done this weekend, and I'm going to try that too. I tried everything to get these things balanced before, it was a complete waste of time. The lead weights get knocked off first time you go on a trail, mine were all squished together so they all ended up in one spot.

I'm not sure the material (BBs) is right, I'll know soon I guess, but I'm pretty convinced that this is the only method of consistently balancing these things. Oh yeah, I've got 35 X 15.5 SXs - not 36+, but notoriously hard to balance.

I got my Rockstomper beadlocks and 37" MTs for my 16.5" steelies. I am going to be using golfballs and "stainless steel" BBs to keep 'em from rusting into little hard clumps. :D

For some reason I think the 35x15.50 Swamper SX just doesn't balance...I had a set that rode horrible when the flat spots were still in them, my friends who have had 35x15.50 have had the same problems....awesome tire though, went everywhere with those things.

We have 37 boggers with bart beadlocks & haven't had any problems with wobble's. The guy we bought the tires from said that they wouldn't have any problems with wobble because something was done to the tires to help prevent that. I can't remember what he said though. I'll talk to my husband in the next couple days & ask him what the guy said.

I run "Aggressive Off Road" Aggro II Beadlocks.
They have a inner retainer bead on the wheel, .... so that the outer ring is not used to center the tire. My 38.50x14.50 SX tires are smoother on these baed locks than any set of tires I have ever ran on my MRT beadlocks. I dont ballance them, but they drive great at over 80 mph(as long as they dont have a flat spot from sitting at 4 psi on the trailer for 24 hrs). It is a very good design, even though they are a pain in the ass to mount the tire over the bead. Best beadlocks I ever ran, and Ive ran 3 different sets and 2 different brands, over the last 5 years, before I bought these from Gabe.

When I switched to 38" bias ply tires my freeway went to sh*t. I don't drive it on the freeway anymore and trailer it when I drive out of town. Love them on the trail!

I tried to balance my 36" SX's but it did not make a difference. The hole Jeep still shakes. I got frustrated, so I bought 35 AT's as well. Now that's a balanced tire. Works great for the road.:smokin:

I think, but not totally sure, they make stainless buckshot for reloading shotgun shells.

i had 38 tsl's bias ply on mrt beadlocks drive my jeep everday and keep the pressures at 30psi drove on the hywy no joke min. 80 miles an hour never vibrated or shaked nothing on the street they were also beautiful
next are 38.5x14.40x16.5 sx's for my humvee wheels and 1 ton axles

I have 38.5 SX's on Trailready's and i use equal to balence them. you can't balence the trailready wheel because of the size of the ring.

Shotgun reloading supplies- lead or bismuth...Bismuth is what replaces lead for a "non-toxic" load...Also won't rust...

i wouldn't pad balance tires for rock crawlin because when you air you tires down and they flex the pads can come off.

have yall had any negative affects of running the bb's or golf balls in your wheels. I would like to try it but don't want all that stuff dinging up the inside of my wheels.

I've ran my 37 boggers for 5 months pad balanced with as little as 0 psi and havent had any pads come loose, and I bought these used so theve been run alot longer then that w/o any trouble.
