$800 shipped to my door.
Nothing in my neigborhood was avalaible under 1200, so a fellow PBB member hook me up with this... after shipping it cross country.
Course, as soon as I bought this I saw adds for a couple in the 900-1000 range local... but then I would have gone through atleast $100 is gas getting it and have to load it by hand.... so shipping aint that bad :D
Swapping the external outers for a set of GM Dually hubs and running Hummer rims.... for now. Should make my width right about what I want, with no custom work..
now to just build a new truck for it to go under :D

hey since your getting rid of those single wheel hubs for dullies why dont you send those hubs out my way??:D :D

Between the external style hubs and the 'tab' type shock mounts, my web-wheelin' mind says that is indeed from a Dodge. Since the tie rod is bent the axle is no good...
I will do the honerable thing and pay for shipping to my place so it can be propperly disposed of! :flipoff2:

Man, you web wheelers need to research more.... its a Dodge, 67" WF to WF
You guys are also gready... remind me of myself :D
Local guy wants single wheel hubs bad, even if they are external style, has GM (internal) dually hubs which will work well with the Hummer rims till I change my mind. Worked for me and made the external hubs not a big deal too me. Not that I would have carried anyway... nothing really wrong with external, just limited hub lock selection and harder to do 35-spline stubs....
But since I now will have Internal GM hubs.... 35-spline stubs on the upgade list.... now reason not to.... better now than later if/when I bust a 30-spline and take out the spindle, hub lock......
There won't be much down time for my current truck.... The plan is to build a new truck pretty much from scratch (i.e. use some of the crap I got laying around the wife is constantly asking me what I'm going to do with it).... I hope to start this winter, but we'll see.... still a couple of "capital" parts I need to get... But the current truck will stay whole till that last minute, if I even use any parts off it,

I did have to spend $125 and drive 1100 miles round trip to pick it up, but I gladly did that for a $600 D60F.

That is a pretty good deal for a 60. I think anything 800 or under you can't complain about. Good score. I just scored some BFG KO's 33x10.5x15's pretty cheap. I'll sell the whole set for 200 bucks if someone needs them.

Well, if there were any of THOSE deals avaliable I would have jumped on them in a minute.
What, you think I'm a moron?? :flipoff2: It all depends on where you are, where you live, and who you know.
Here in the "city", those deals are few and far between (I did get my D300 that way though) and since there are 1000 other wheelers within 50 miles of me looking for the same deal.... I though $800 was a damn good deal and I didn't have to part out a truck, even though I could have made more money that way.... but at the expence of valauble time.....

Dude don't pay too much attention to that crap. I paid 500 for mine and I know where another one here is for 500. But its pretty rural here so not alot of buildups. 800 bucks in an urban area with 1000 other guys scouring for parts is a good deal.

I got "the call" last night, too... there are gears in my 60F after 3 years (or was it 4?)..
I wonder how many years it'll take to arrange to go pick it up? :D

Getting your first D60F is like getting your first car. You'll never forget it.
I have the same axle, but it has the external drive flanges instead of the hubs.
I about shat myself when I got mine for $150, but it looks like it was resting on the ocean floor for the past 27 years. Needs new bearings, carrier, gears, brakes, kingpins, etc. Expen$ive.
If there's any chance you want to sell those Selectro lockouts, drop me a PM.

I paid typical socal market price for mine $1k with 4.56 gears. What's really funny is that this price is before renting a trailer and driving 200 miles to pick it up, then having to purchase a detroit, bearings, seals, high steer arms and studs, steel shims, 35 spline stubs, axle ujoints, spicer hubs and broaching, 1410 yoke, kingpin bushings, brake pads, ss brakelines, junkyard spring plates and ubolts, draglink tubing, tre boots and bs consumables. Now I'm into for over $2400. :barf:
Then there's the rear

I forgot to mention that includes me doing all the work not a shop. I also omitted to tools I had to buy to setup the r&p, remove the kingpins and the torment I endured when I cut and turn the knuckles.

There was an 85 Dodge Crewcab shortbed 4x4 W350 for sale here (Santa Rosa) about six months ago for $800/best offer. It was sitting with a sign on the dashboard in the Hawleys Paint store parking lot for a few weeks. The damn thing had a kingpin D60 front (crawled under and checked for the '60' on the pumpkin) a D70 rear, a 727TF, and what looked like an NP205. The body was even in good shape except for a big dent on one side of the bed. No Rot, no bondo... It actually was a cool truck as is...
I was plottin' to buy the rig, swap in a D44 front (and keep the 60 of course), get 'er smoggable (everything looked to be there...), then sell the truck to get my money back. That would've ROCKED! :flipoff2:
The dude was probably selling it cheap because he couldn't smog (and therefore register) it. I cringed every time I drove by it because I just didn't have the $$$ to buy it. The crazy thing is that I had some money comming from an estate, but the lawyer was taking forever to finish the paperwork. When the $$$ finaly came (a few weeks after I first saw the truck) I drove down to Hawleys, and the damn Dodge was GONE! :mad3:
Somebody SCORED with that one...It just wasn't me.

The real value of a D60 is pretty high. That's why people brag about getting them for under $800. When P2 (TC) was parted out Chad got $3500 for the axles. At first I thought that was a little high, but when you count the ARB front, Detroit rear, gears, Hysteer, wheel bearings and all the little stuff ~ it would have cost at least that much to build a couple axles to that spec.

Good score Rust. It doesn't take to much to get rid of those externals.
I picked up a 85' four dodge last year for a grand. Perfect truck, ac and all, tranny had a leak and couldn't pass I and M. I couldn't bring myself to part it, so it now lives in Billings with my brother....
