I want to know if i may need to adjust the length of my front springs. I have a scout II with deaver springs on it. The springs have 12 leaves in the pack and ride great and flex nice.
When parked the front shackle is flexed forward about 30-40 degrees and when flexing it it easly flips all the way forward on its self. Make sense?
I guess my question is "should the shackel be straight 90 deg or ?"

angle looks ok, some ppl say 45 degrees is desired, i like more like 55 or 60 degree, you problem looks to be your shackles are just plain too short.

2 inch longer shackles should fix your problem.

Longer shackle = less angle

I run 45* front and rear

I think the problem here is the arc of the leafs...see they have enough arc that as they flatten (when flexed) they grow in length this kicks the shackle tofar foward. If you dont want lift from a longer shackle then you need to move the shackle hanger foward 1'' +/- ;)

Looks like your running out of flex past a flat spring becasue the shackle is to short. Is that a Scout II shackle length? Picture makes it look shorter...

Problem with a two inch over shackle is you will also loose 3 degrees castor which does not help... you may only need an inch over what you have to cure that problem.

a big angle also makes your rig wander a bit, I'd try a shackle about 1" longer just so it doesn't flip forward and it shouldn't mess with angles much. You can always run shims under your leaf pack to correct the angle..

Ahh I see the problem!!

Your shackle is in the front! ;)

I have thought about doing a RS setup to cure my problem and handle better on road...
