Best thing you could do is sell it. Get a 97 or older ranger or a toyota pickup. The front IFS on the new rangers suck for wheeling and have no travel. The guy with the name retard on this board is planning a sas on his pretty soon.

Check out
www.offroadrangers.com
www.therangerstation.com
www.rrorc.com

Those should give some help in ideas for your ranger

How much you wana spend?

100$ PA 3" Body lift and 33's looks and works nice

or for 1200-2500$ could totally trick out that 98 with SPOA front dana44 and 35" tires

I was looking at a 4" lift for 1229..but if i can get it cheaper yeah, i want to spend just what i need, lol nothing crazy. i just want to go wheeling. and latrer if i want to go crazy then i will go all out. just for now a good lift, nice tires i want 35's but i will go for 33's and i am told a body lift?

i just want to get what is needed :D

3" body lift and 33"s and maybe a few twists to the torson bars wil make them fit. toss a locker in the rear, nome rocker panel protection (not the smittybuilt ones some real ones) and go have fun.

Here are the problems with the IFS lifts for 4x4 ranger

1. little if any gain in wheeltravel over stock
2. over $1000 more just to buy plus install then a body lift
3. the trail master i have seen on an explorer had bent brackets and lose of turning radius over stock
4. Torson bars are lowered. That mean very little if any gain in breakover angle.
5. did i mention the price.
6. the on kit that gets rid of torsenbars from racecar dynamics isnt even out yet and is suppose to be around 2k.
7. No lockers are available for the front axle asfar as i know.
8. Vacume lock hubs. They suck people are always having problems with them.
9. The superlift kit I have seen when the guy wheeled it he kept breaking cv shafts and he was open in the front.

Hope that helps.

Matt

I agree with Matt.... either get the body lift, or go all out and do the SAS.. superlift kit is just a waste of money.

Thanks guys for your info.
right now i am going for just a 4' lift (yeah$$) tax returns for it, and 33 tires. for now, i am going to wheel light with her nothing bad until i get use to her and while doing that i am going ot save up $$$$$$ and do the axle in a year or less. right now i have to share her with my dad while he does the mod's to his bronco, agh
he says no body lift. he is my mech. for her so i am taking his word. But I figured to name the rig and i like what i named her: DemonBaby.
i know i am going to get hell from the IFS, agh so i am hooked.
what are some good sites to look up things for rangers etc?

Build it baja style. There is a company in orange making extended (wider) control arms with custom shafts if money isnt important. It was designed for race use and is just awsome from what ive heard 12" of travel

Yah per madison ford mechanics a bodylift alters driveline to tranny angles.. hey didnt you say your dad worked for madison ford? Maybe thats why he doesnt like bodylifts...
