My TJ's OE radiator sprung a leak at the upper tank seal the other day. My understanding is that with plastic tanks, it cannot be repaired.

Rather than drop $$$ at a dealership for another TJ radiator, I would sooner drop in something else, like a Griffin jobber.

I would prefer just a "plain ole'" aluminum radiator manufactured to dimensions to fit in my TJ. I can make up all the necessary bracketry to mount it as well as a fan.

I didn't see anything on Griffin's web site about "general purpose" units or pricing.

Does anyone know what a Griffin would cost, say approximately 22"x22" including the top and bottom tank?

Are there any other options out there for radiators?

go to the summit racing website for your griffin radiator.

yeah get a griffin. Summit sells various sizes for about $180. I'm sure you can find something that will work.

There is always Radiator.com

Lifetime warranties, meet or exceed OEM, name brand mfgs, price guarantee, overnight delivery. Several of my friends have used them with success.

There may even a 3 row upgraded raditor for your TJ.

BTW, this may not be appropriate here, but if you decide to buy from them, use the banner thats rotating through my site for the actual order and help a fellow wheeler pay some bills

Try Hugh's Radiator (http://www.tco.net/~berrys/). I just ordered a new rad for my Scout, under $400.00 for a 3 row, Optima (5/16" inch spacing). Talk to Hugh, seems to know his sheet.

You can get a nice Howe custom made jobbie at http://www.alumrad.com I bought an AFCO 19x31 for my S10 all brandly new and shipped for $170. It's a fine unit, has brazed tanks, not epoxied (imho brazed are better).

I'd say you could find one for under $200 from a lot of places.
