Can anyone explain how to modify a 258 passenger side motor mount to work with a AMC V8?

Pictures of a stock mount and a modified mount, or a stock 258 mount and a 304 mount side by side if anyone has such a pic would be great? Also any disadvantages of doing this instead of finding a stock V8 mount.

Or would the mount from a 80 cherokee with a 360 work?

I searched this topics but failed to find any valuable information.

Thanks very much.
Tony

It mostly involves just welding something up to fit.

I have done several using a combination of the 8cyl. and 6 cyl. mounts or maybe just the ones for the 8...get the ones for a 8 cyl and mix and match if you have to.I didnt fab anything or drill anything to make it work.If you have access to the FSJ just get the mounts from it,and you should be able to make some combination work.

I have been told that the 258 mounts can be notched out, not sure where, to make them compatible with the 360.

If any one has a picture of the 258 mount and the 360 mount side by side it would be great, that way I could see what is involved in modifying them two work.

thanks
