I did a search and couldn't find any info on a 4.3 swap into an older sj410.The reason I ask is that I have a new t350 with a toy case and 2 locked diffs from a donor truck and thought a 4.3 might be a decent swap on LPG.Any links would be appreciated.

There are a few companies that offer the 4.3L swap for Sammies. One is in Florida, the name eludes me right now.
Although I did a 2.8L swap,it should be similar as both engines were used in the S10 and have similar mounts. The 4.3L is much wider howeverand likely a little longer.I just fabbed a simple boxed crossmember and used the stock S10 mounts. It came out very clean and simple.
One word of advice,go with a serpentine belt setup.Itll save you quite a bit of space, especially if your planning on having PS,smog, compressed air/AC ect......

Do a search on lightning conversions before you buy anything from them. Everything I've read screamed total hack job:eek:

Kidding about what?
He asked for info about swapping 4.3L engines and I gave it to him.
If you dont like American engine swapped Sammies, thats your problem.Personally,I love my V-6 Samurai,I wouldnt trade it for any 4 banger.
I didnt plug any company or try to sell him on anything,I just provided some links,as requested!
If theres some issues with Lightening Conversions (or whatever their called)....I wasnt aware of it.It was simply a site I remembered seeing back when I first did my V-6 install.

if you do want a V6 there are better ways to do it even cheaper and better results then lightning

what you have here is a good basis .. the rest of the parts really would be monts you could fab up and a 67 mustang radiator this is from what i reseached when i was going to do it
but i found that the 4 cyl is fine for the wheeling i do
