so will the weak link be the stock outer shaft in this senario? If so, then that would be a cheap repair...is there any pros or cons to this?

I am sure since they say to only use with chromolly...cheap band-aide...hub fuses:D:D:D...the cheapest thing in the long run would be to save a few extra bucks and wait a little longer to install the CTMs and get some chromolly outers...

I have moser outers as well, but I thought that a cheap weak link would be great if and when the stock outers go. Only if the outers don't destroy the inners.. then that would suck..

I have also heard that if they are used with stock shafts that when the tock shaft goes it may damage the joint...dont know how that soft steel would damage the indestructible CTMs??? its just what I heard ove on the Jeep board

even with 297's I have broken 2 stock outers in the area just outboard of the needle bearing. I think if you ran that combo that location is where you would usually break. Since new stock outers are around $30 that sounds fine, if you like the fuse theory. But the CTM/warn or moser seems to be pretty good, judging by this board I think I ould stick with aftermarket outers.
