Environmentalists, off-roaders finally working together

There were times, in marked moments of frustration, when Don Klusman thought to wipe his sport utility vehicle's dipstick with pages from Paul Spitler's precious Endangered Species Act. Spitler, for his part, would salivate at the idea of slapping Klusman and his off-road driving ilk with lawsuit after lawsuit, making them pay for what he believed was their wanton disregard of California's environmentally sensitive land. For the past 30 years, it was safe to say there was one thing environmentalists and off-roaders agreed on: They absolutely loathed each other.

In a lot of OHV activist's opinions this is a sellout. There has been a lengthy discussion of this on the LUN, a lot of people feel that we were sold down the river. Cal 4WD is not doing all it can do to stem the tide.
