has anyone ever converted a 3/4 ton dana 44 to a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern? i have been told that you have to get the brake caliper braket, brake caliper, spindle, hub body, hubs and all the hardware from a 78-79 f150 or bronco. i though that in a ford the calipers bolt to the knuckle. also would the parts be the same off of a TTB F150? i know that they were dana 44's.
any information is appreciated. thanks

I don't see why not... the swap the other way round works just fine.
Just be sure not to trash your 8-lug parts. That stuff's hard to find lately.
TTB used a different spindle design, and cast-in caliper bracket, so no, not really.

Just swap the knuckles out from a 1/2 ton ford or bronco D44 solid axle. I have what you need if you want to swap me your 8-lug stuff for them.;)

i think i am just going to try and find a cheap 14 bolt or ford 10.25 and go 8 lug. a buddy of mine got his 14 bolt for $50. it would be cheper for me to get the new rear axle, and 4 15x10 8 lug wheels then it would be to convert the front axle to 8 lug. besides, i hate the wheels i have now, so it is a good excuse to switch
